Vermiform Records was owned and operated by Sam McPheeters from 1990 to 2002. In that time, the label released 57 records by Amps For Christ, Born Against, Citizen's Arrest, Econochrist, Heroin, Man Is The Bastard, Men's Recovery Project, Moss Icon, Rah Bras, Rorschach and Screeching Weasel, among others. In late 2002 Vermiform formally closed as a label.

All businesses need three basic nutrients to survive; capital, discipline and organization. Except for a few fleeting months, Vermiform never had more than two at any one time. Relocating the label from New York to New Jersey to Virginia to Rhode Island to California probably didn't help either.

Keeping the remnants of a shuttered company around is, frankly, some sad shit. Although available past releases are still sold here, the label itself is a minor museum piece. Thanks to everyone who helped with the day to day work; Anthony Berryman, Christina Brown, Noëlle Ensign, Kim Flournoy, David Grant, Max Henkel, Cundo Murad, Adam Nathanson, Liz Schnore, Ruth Schwartz, John Skaritza and Tara Tavi. Thanks to everyone who bought a record. Special thanks to Neil Burke; in an alternative universe, this guy has the corner office instead of a basement full of moldy Fear Of Smell CDs.
